I was thinking about this recently, what it means "God is love". This is how I've understood it which will probably sound a bit muddled but here goes...
ReplyDeleteGod is love... because he is love he cannot not love us! No matter how much we sin, which of course God hates, he cannot not love us. Even though sometimes he allows bad stuff to happen in our lives for whatever reason he might have, it doesn't mean that he has stopped loving us because he cannot not love us. I think of it a bit like God being made of love, if you take away the love you no longer have who God is, you cannot have God without having love. Probably not theologically correct but it helps me!
