Day 19: Love languages: quality time...

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

In today's busy world, the love language that can be most forgotten is quality time.  The distractions of life can take us away from truly connecting with the people we love.  Smartphones, while incredible pieces of technology, can take us away from giving our attention to the people who may be crying out for it.  How often do we find ourselves telling somebody who is asking for us: "in a minute....." and then that minute becomes half an hour, and the moment is gone?

Jesus was amazing at speaking the language of quality time.  He allowed his "schedule" to be hijacked by people calling his name, he sat down at dinner and gave his full attention to those around the table, he answered questions when they were asked, he went out on fishing boats spending time with those disciples for whom that was their comfortable place.  We can learn so much from his example.

Who needs your quality time today?

If you have any stories about how you have spent quality time loving or being loved, please do share it to encourage us all today.

  1. This was so "timely"! Wednesday is my day with both big kids in school/preschool - my window of "me" (and baby!) time. Or so I like to think... Today I had two friends needing my quality time for different reasons and tempting as sofa, coffee and feet up for just a while sounded, I have been feeling lately I need to be ready and free for "just in case" moments. And so I gave my "me" time to my friends. And I hope they feel loved today - they both needed it. God just reminds us sometimes we're not here for "me" we're here for him - and quality time was what he wanted me to give today. Plus I got the blessing of time with two amazing girls.
